Franklin, MA's Award-Winning Salon
Cuts that grow out beautifully. Stylists who actually listen. Master Stylists with decades of experience and a complimentary consultation before every service.
More Than a Trim
Anyone with scissors can give you a haircut. A precision cut is different — every section is measured, every angle is intentional, and every decision is made with how the cut will grow out in mind. The result is a cut that looks intentional from every angle, holds its shape between visits, and works with your natural hair pattern instead of against it.
At Brian Richard’s, our stylists train continuously in the latest cutting techniques. Master Stylist Brian Richard Aiello leads the team, and the standard he sets carries through every appointment — from a quick clean-up trim to a full transformation.
Whether you’re coming in for your regular cut, growing out a previous style, or finally ready for a major change — we’ll talk through the result you want and the maintenance you’re willing to commit to before we make a single cut.
Your Two Options
Both tiers deliver excellent precision cuts. The right fit depends on your needs, your hair, and your budget. Either option is appropriate for most clients — and your stylist will be happy to recommend the right tier at your consultation.

Common Questions
A precision haircut is a cut where every section is sectioned, measured, and cut deliberately rather than freehand. The result is a cut that grows out beautifully, holds its shape between visits, and looks intentional from every angle.
Precision cutting requires advanced training and is typically performed by Master Stylists or experienced stylists. At Brian Richard’s, every cut — Master Stylist or Stylist tier — is performed using precision technique. The difference between tiers is the experience level and the complexity of work the stylist can handle, not the quality of the cut itself.
It depends on your cut and your hair. Shorter cuts typically need a trim every 4–6 weeks to hold their shape. Medium-length cuts usually go 6–8 weeks. Longer hair can stretch to every 8–12 weeks for shape maintenance and split-end removal. Your stylist will give you a personalized schedule at your appointment.
Master Stylists have advanced training and years of experience with complex cutting techniques, intricate layering, corrective work, and challenging hair textures. Stylist-tier cuts are performed by talented stylists who deliver excellent results at a more accessible price point. Both tiers use precision cutting technique. For complex cuts, corrective work, or major changes — choose Master Stylist. For regular trims and classic shapes — Stylist tier is a great fit.
Yes — and we cut men’s hair at the same precision level as women’s. Modern fades, classic cuts, scissor-over-comb work, and longer styles. Every men’s cut at Brian Richard’s includes a shampoo and blow-dry finish as part of the service — not an add-on.
Most stylists recommend cutting before coloring, as the cut shapes the canvas the color is applied to. If you’re booking both services in the same visit, your stylist will handle the order — typically cut first, then color. If you’re scheduling them separately, prioritize the cut first if you’re getting a major change, or color first if you’re just getting a regular trim.
Absolutely — and we recommend it. Bringing 2–3 photos of cuts you like helps us understand the result you’re going for far better than describing it in words. Your stylist will look at the photos, assess what’s achievable for your hair type and texture, and walk you through any adjustments needed.
