Here’s what working at Brian Richard’s offers that most salons can’t.
Color is over 75% of what we do — not a side service. If you want to specialize in color and grow as a colorist, you're going to do that here faster than anywhere else. 8,000+ color services a year means real reps, real variety, and real expertise.
We work with both Goldwell and Wella Professional — two of the most respected names in professional color. Most salons commit to one. Working with both means you'll learn formulation flexibility most stylists never get exposed to.
Master Stylist Brian Richard Aiello personally invests in his team's growth. This isn't corporate education — it's hands-on guidance from someone who's been doing exceptional color work for over a decade and genuinely wants you to get better.
Readers' Choice Award winner. Franklin's most trusted salon. When you tell people you work at Brian Richard's, they know what that means. You're joining a brand that's already trusted by the community — you'll never have to prove your salon's credibility.
Our clients drive in from across the MetroWest — Bellingham, Wrentham, Milford, Cumberland RI. They come for quality and they tip accordingly. Better tips, more respect, and clients who actually follow your professional recommendations.
Massage shampoo chairs, complimentary beverages for every client, a thoughtfully designed space that feels as good as the work we deliver. You'll actually enjoy coming to work here.
Master Stylist Brian Richard Aiello
Brian opened his doors in 2010 with a clear vision — to build a salon where color was the centerpiece, not an afterthought. Over a decade later, he’s built exactly that, and the team he’s assembled around him reflects his commitment to craft.
If you’re new to the industry, you’ll learn the right way from the start. If you’re an experienced stylist looking to specialize in color or refine your technique, you’ll find a salon environment that genuinely supports continuing education and skill development.
Brian doesn’t just hire stylists — he develops them. Every member of the team gets ongoing mentorship, exposure to the latest techniques, and the kind of one-on-one feedback that’s almost impossible to find at chain salons or larger studios.
“I built this salon to be the place I wished existed when I was coming up. A place where color is taken seriously, where stylists are invested in, and where the work speaks for itself.”
— Brian Richard Aiello, Master Stylist & Owner
Franklin and the surrounding MetroWest communities are some of the most affluent in central Massachusetts. Our clients are professionals, families, and individuals who understand that quality work costs more — and they’re happy to invest in it.
What that means for you: clients who respect your expertise instead of questioning every recommendation. Clients who tip generously because they appreciate the artistry. Clients who rebook consistently because they value the relationship.
Many of our stylists have built books filled with loyal clients who’ve been coming for years. When you work here, you’re not starting from scratch — you’re joining a trusted name in the community.

Let’s be honest — a lot of salons have toxic cultures. Competition between stylists, gossip, drama, favoritism. We’ve seen it, and we’ve intentionally built something different here.
At Brian Richard’s, we believe stylists do their best work when they feel supported, not stressed. The team helps each other succeed. Senior stylists mentor newer ones. Knowledge gets shared, not hoarded. Clients come first, but the team comes a close second — because we know that taking care of our people is what makes everything else possible.
We’re looking for talented stylists who want to specialize in color. If you’re passionate about balayage, highlights, dimensional color, and corrective work — and you want to grow under the guidance of a Master Stylist — we want to meet you. Existing clientele is a plus but not required. Our established reputation gives you the opportunity to build your book quickly.
Assistant positions are designed for new stylists, recent cosmetology graduates, and current students looking to build real-world experience. You’ll learn from experienced stylists while completing your education or refining your fundamentals. This is one of the best paths into a color specialization in the MetroWest.
Fill out the application below. We review every application personally, and we’ll be in touch if we think you’d be a great fit.

We offer competitive compensation that rewards your talent, your hustle, and your client relationships. Specific rates depend on experience and position and are discussed during the interview process. We believe in transparency on pay and will give you clear numbers before any offer is made.
Having an existing clientele is a plus, but it’s not required. Our 15+ year reputation and established client base means there are real opportunities to build your book here. We’ll work with you to grow your client list over time, and we have a steady stream of new clients walking through the door every week.
Absolutely. Our salon assistant program is designed for current students and recent graduates. You’ll learn fundamentals, work alongside experienced stylists, and build the kind of foundation that’s hard to get anywhere else. It’s one of the best paths into a color specialization in the MetroWest area.
Three things: color specialization, mentorship, and culture. Color is what we do — over 8,000 services a year — and that depth means you’ll grow as a colorist faster here than anywhere else. Brian Richard Aiello personally invests in his team’s development. And our salon culture is supportive, not competitive — drama isn’t tolerated.
Yes — there’s a clear path from assistant to stylist to senior stylist. We invest in our team long-term through continuing education, advanced color training with Goldwell and Wella, and one-on-one mentorship with Brian. Many of our team members have been with us for years.
The salon is open Monday (11am-8pm), Tuesday (9am-9pm), Wednesday (9am-9pm), Thursday (10am-8pm), Friday (9am-5pm), and Saturday (8am-4pm). We’re closed Sundays. Specific schedules vary by position and are discussed during the interview process — we work with our team on consistent scheduling that supports work-life balance.
Every application is reviewed personally. If we think you’d be a good fit, you’ll hear from us within a few business days to schedule a phone or in-person conversation. From there, the next step is typically a working interview where you can see the salon, meet the team, and demonstrate your skills.
Join a team that invests in your growth, respects your craft, and offers the kind of mentorship that builds careers — not just paychecks.
